PhD Black College Scholarships in Geobiosshere Science


The Ph.D. Black College Scholarships project will investigate the amorphous silica content from Arctic ecosystems, particularly in boreal and tundra ecosystems. In addition, the project will link these amorphous silica stocks to those of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. The Ph.D. Black College Scholarships thesis will ultimately revolve around the concept of carbon and silica stocks in Arctic ecosystems, the interpretation of these stocks in the context of climate change and permafrost thawing and the interactions with other nutrient cycles.

The Black College Scholarships applicants are expected to hold a university degree (preferably MSc. or equivalent) in natural sciences. A degree in subjects like Geology, Geochemistry, Geography or Aquatic Ecology is preferable.Black College Scholarships Documented experience in field studies is an advantage. Experience of scientific publication in English is an asset.
